A career of memories

FiftyIn50

What is the most memorable job you've held?
(Blogging Challenge day #5)

In my professional career, spanning 34 years, I've only had four distinct jobs so not much to choose from.  I've been very lucky, in that each was very interesting and dynamic.  After working for a few years at my first job, I left and setup my own firm in the technology sector.  It was a success, employing 24 people, and had a good reputation.  After five years I wanted some down time so sold it on as a going concern.  I had a few years off after that.

Returning to the workforce I did consultancy for a few years, and then fell into my third job -- this time in a legal firm.

I was there for 15 years.  I had a fantastic time and all the opportunities to grow my own role, and a team.  I was respected by the Board.  I answered directly to the MD, who trusted me implicitly.

After a merger I was jobless for a year, but it was my most memorable job.

I then fell into another legal firm, working with the most toxic business owner I have ever met in my life.  That's another story, but I chose to exit recently to save my sanity!

What about you?
