A smile and some luck

I'm feeling very lucky today. 

I was stopped by two policemen for speeding. I was driving through a village on a rural road. More of a hamlet than a village.... ten houses. I'm normally very conscious and do slow down but today I didn't.

He explained  that his device had clocked me at 45 in a 30. I smiled graciously, accepting the outcome.  He and his partner took my licence back to their car for checks.

Five minutes later they returned and said they were issuing me with a verbal warning only. No fine. No penalty points. He said I had an impeccable licence (no points or fines) so take this as a warning.

Nice man 👮

Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket.
